UofM | AgileCMMI: Process Innovation at the Speed of Life | As the debate on Agile Methods (XP, RUP, SCRUM, etc) and their compatibility with the CMMI continues, AgileCMMI arrives to bridge the chasm to provide IT organization's with a valuable, agile framework for software process improvement. Come learn how to interpet the spirit of the CMMI model from an Agile perspective - one that frees developers to maintain creativity while enabling re-use, improving quality, and supercharging performance. | Jeff Dalton, President Broadsword |

OaklandU | Software
Testing Under Pressure Presentation Slides |
Some
software
testing tasks occur under dreadful conditions, such as having
inadequate requirements and unreasonable deadlines. Even when product
delivery
is imminent, you can evaluate critical parts of the application and
verify that
key features function correctly. Come hear one of the software
industries’s
most experienced quality professionals and learn about a series of
steps that
make effective use of your time and provide suitable tests for
demonstrating
whether your application works as expected. |

UofM | Verification Process Area of the Capability Maturity Model - Integrated (CMMI) | This presentation covers interpreting the Verification (VER) Process Area (PA) and its relationship to the real world. The following questions will be answered: Why is the VER PA important to Process Improvement (PI)? How does the VER PA support an organization's purpose and business objectives? What benefits does the VER PA provide to an organization? What CMMI PAs does the VER PA depend on? What CMMI PAs depend on the VER PA? What are the critical Specific Practices of the VER PA? What are the significant Generic Practices of the VER PA? | Eva Bergman |

UofM | Formalizing Agility: An Agile Organization's Journey
toward CMMI Accreditation Poster |
In
this session we discuss the ongoing journey of DTE Energy's large IT
organization in realizing agility and process improvement in a Fortune
300 corporation. From following waterfall-based approaches to embracing
agile methods, and from early attempts with the CMM to a renewed
commitment to continuous improvement by adopting the CMMI, we explore
cultural and organizational changes that enable real-world process
improvements. |

Software Testing: From Art to
Engineering |
For
many years, software testing has been a critical component of any
software
project. Some organizations even
decided to award members of their test teams the title “Test Engineer”
or deem
them a certified software test engineer.
At the same, test teams have not even tried to utilize any precise
technique by which they can design their tests. Testers have not
taken advantage of the many software engineering
techniques that have existed in the literature for many years. In
this presentation, Dr. Hanna will show
how test teams can use existing techniques and methods to precisely
calculate
and design their tests even before development teams have started their
design
work. Furthermore, Dr. Hanna will show
how these techniques can be used to unify the interpretation of
requirements by
developers and testers at the same time and how they can be used to
develop
systems that meet customer expectations. |

UofM | Requirements Management | What does it take to successfully manage requirements? Which requirement management tool is the best? What are the pitfalls of establishing a requirements management system? What are the rewards of establishing a requirements management system? These and other such questions will be addressed during this presentation. | Peter Pirozzo, Systems Engineering, Integration & Test Lead Northrop-Grumman Corporation |
