= = = = J2640 J2640 Purpose: The purpose of this meeting is to continue the direction of developing a "recommended practice" that  addresses "generic embedded software requirements for body modules".  This working group meeting is open and does not require SAE membership to attend - all industry software experts are welcome. = = = = = = J2640 Chair - Ron Brombach  Vice Chair - Jim Weinfurther Meeting Agenda: Continued review and re-write of new proposed requirements = = = = = = J2640 Background: The SAE Embedded Software Task Force is creating J2640 - an "Generic Embedded Software Requirements  Recommended Practice". This effort is based on input from the software experts of both the automotive  OEMs, the automotive electronic module supplier base, related software suppliers, and consultants to the  industry. There is growing interest that this potential recommended practice may be suitable for all OEMs,  module suppliers, and third-party software providers. Why? With the increase of in-vehicle software  continuing, a portion of the industry is requesting that the automotive embedded software engineering  community adopt a set of general purpose software requirements which will improve the quality of vehicle  module software. For example, how to use interrupts, how to apply the use of a watchdog timer, or how to  employ non-volitile memory are all addressed in this agenda. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = sae website navigation Here are the instructions (From Bob Gruszczynski) for getting to the Embedded Software Task Force  information area on the SAE website: _ Go to sae.org _ log in to your "MyMember" page (your login is ID=SAE member #,  PW=1st initial-lastname all uppercase,  i.e. RGRUSZCZYNSKI) _ select the "Community" pulldown _ select "Forums" _ select "Search All" _ Search for J2632 (you will then see the hierarchy) _ click on Embedded Software Task Force Discussions and Documents _ click on "Add" to add it to your profile. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = directions Vector CANtech - Suite 550 39500 Orchard Hill Place Novi, Michigan *** Near I-275 and 8 Mile Road About 200 yards northwest of the NOVI SHERIDAN (previously the HILTON) *** From corner of Haggerty and 8 Mile Go Haggerty Road north to near top of the hill Turn left onto Orchard Hill Place Vector is second building on the right Enter thru front of building Take elevator to 5th floor
